Using aromatherapy candles for stress relief is an effective way to signal your brain that you’re safe and it’s time to relax. If you make aromatherapy a regular part of your routine your brain will start to associate certain fragrances with certain moods. The most popular application of aromatherapy is stress relief.

In order to minimize smoke when you extinguish a candle, you should dip the wick into the melted candle wax instead of blowing it out. You just push the wick into the wax and then immediately pull it right back up. This will quickly extinguish the flame entirely and minimize any smoke. You can use a specialized tool called a “wick dipper” for this; they come in nifty shapes and some are adorned with embellishments. Or, if you prefer to keep things simple, you could make your own out of a large paperclip.

The higher quality the candle, the longer it will burn and the more fragrant it will be.


The suggestions above are pricey, but they are worth it. However, if you can’t afford them, then obviously, don’t buy them. The whole point is to relieve stress, not compound it further by living beyond your means.
